Novtumber 20th

- I saw such an unusual sight today as I was heading back to the Grand Temple from a bath.
A small group of aviansie were standing in the market, all looking at some oddly marked map. People were looking at them, slowing down to stare before they went about their day.
I have never actually seen an aviansie that was not a prisoner with my own eyes, but these ones seemed to be in Senntisten willfully.
I found Trindine watching them from not too far away. She was peeling an egg, which she passed off to me, as she leaned against the side of a shop in plain sight. She figured that I would come by to ask her what was happening.
The aviansie group is seeking their fortune by opening their own trade route.
Trindine confirmed that it was unusual, but aviansie have free will. Like humans, they come up with their own strange ideas and try to put them into practice, especially if they stand to profit from it.
She does not think the aviansie, even though they are Armadylian, will cause any problems. She and her squad have already been investigating them for a while now. They have no ulterior motives. They are simply seeking new business ventures. She still fully plans to monitor them, however.
Trindine said that, economically, they could be fantastic for the Empire, allowing in resources at a cheaper price that before had to be brought in through more indirect ways. Racially, however, she thinks they might hit a barrier with the vast human population of the Empire, who naturally associate aviansie with Armadyl and therefore False Gods.
I saw Balikro on a rooftop. She signaled to Trindine and was on her way, hopping across the clay tile roofing of the buildings lining the marketplace.
Trindine put her arm around me, pulled me into her side for an awkward one-armed hug, patting my shoulder. She told me that everything would be alright.
I do not know what she was so worried about. She said the aviansie were only here for trading opportunities, after all. They do not seem that scary. There were many demons out today, however. I guess she only meant to reassure me that I did not need to be fearful around the demons.
It was kind of an open ended statement. I am not sure of the exact meaning to her words. I do feel much less frightened of the Chthonians when the Mahjarrat are around, though.

I saw Perjour in the Temple. I knew that his presence meant that those who had gone on the mission had returned.
As I passed by him, I gave a greeting. He stopped me for a full conversation. With his work as a travelling scholar, he often gets very little time to pray in the Grand Temple. He usually only has enough time to come in to deliver his findings before he is making haste to his next study.
He asked me many things and was unusually direct about what he was asking, almost as if he was reading off some invisible list. I did see him talking to a few other students. Is he taking a survey?
I told him everything that he asked me, at least of the things that I knew and felt comfortable telling. Since most of his questions were academically based, I figured he must have been sent by Palkeera to make sure I was still in one piece. I had not yet seen her at that point. She was probably in a meeting.
He is such a nervous man. I wonder what must have happened to him in the past that made him so skittish, though I suppose he could have just been born this way.
The mental image of a twitchy, journal-wielding baby named Perjour makes me smile. It is such a weird name, too. I can only speculate upon his family’s home of origin.

Palkeera could not tell me anything about her mission, but did indulge to me that it was a success. Even if I cannot know the exact and secretive outcome of missions that involve only the upper elite of the Empire, it is always exciting when Palkeera confirms that things went well.
She also brought a gift for me, a small protective amulet shaped like a traditional Loarnik shield. The Fierce Dog etched onto it is supposed to scare away danger and fetch good luck for it’s owner. Fierce Dogs are good for all people to own, but are particularly lucky for those from the Dog Clan. I am wearing it under my robes, close to my heart, where it should be.
We played our lutes for a while to relax before Palkeera decided that she needed to finish her paperwork from the mission. It was nice to play music with my Mentor, especially when she  specifically makes time in her schedule to do so.

Palkeera said that she was going to go see if Enakhra was being unreasonable still. I am pretty sure that she has not left her office since she was passed over for the mission. She did not go to that class that she was supposed to teach today.

I must go to sleep now. I have tests to do and essays to write tomorrow.
